Tuscan winemaker Bibi Graetz and his wife Benedicte welcomed a group of key opinion leaders from the UK fine wine trade and press to London private members’ club, Quo Vadis, to mark the release of his Balocchi di Colore (“Colore Toys”) case. Alongside the latest vintage of his eponymous estate’s flagship cuvée, Colore 2020, the limited-edition case featured three new toys: new single-vineyard, single-varietal wines that are usually featured in the Colore blend. Organised by Wine Lister, this marked the estate’s first ever event in London, and was comprised of a guided vertical tasting of the iconic Colore cuvée, followed by a lunch paired with the Balocchi range.
Guests were welcomed in Quo Vadis’ private library room for the vertical tasting led by Bibi – who, under the guidance of Wine Lister, spoke about his commitment to showcasing Tuscan heritage, while staying true to his experimental approach. They were then called to lunch, where, taking inspiration from Bibi’s “balocchi”, the table was adorned with an array of tasteful wooden children’s toys.

With Bibi Graetz’s wines were paired with an simple, ingredient-led menu carefully curated by the club’s chef in collaboration with the Wine Lister team. All food was served in a sharing style, recalling a normal team meal at the Bibi Graetz winery, creating a relaxed atmosphere which encouraged a playful exchange between Bibi and his guests. At the end of the lunch, all guests received a collection of three exclusive limited-edition posters, featuring abstract artworks from the Balocchi labels – each painted by one of Bibi’s children. Some even opted to have their copies signed by the winemaker as a reminder of this special encounter.
